Together against AOL
In September 2001, I moved from France to Sweden, in order to enjoy a year as an Exchange Student. Before having left France I have asked to my internet provider wether or not I could continue to connect through AOL's network with the same contract and at the same price.
AOL, had given me a very kind response, showing how to connect and explaining that I will not suffer any increase in the price and I will have nothing to pay to the local phone company (Télia), as they have a contract with them.
The trouble is that AOL has lied, because they have absolutely no contract with Telia, and I have received a bill around 470 euros or american dollars, for all my connections to AOL's services.
And now AOL refuses to answer my mails, says they will never pay me back and don't even recognise their mistake or their lie.
When I explained this to friends of mine, I found that I was not alone in this case (in different countries), and that AOL uses always that same technic, i.e : refuses to payback, asks the consumer to phone to an expensive phone number in order to be abble to help them, and then waits until the small consumers we are stops asking them anything. (thinking we will never be abble to pay any good lawyer or almost stronger than theirs)
But the law has created the COLLECTIVE LAWSUIT, and we will use it to beat them and to make them paybak every consumers around the world who though they were to small to fight versus such a big Multinational Firm.
